Riding School Arena

Location

The School of Riding of the Real Maestranza de Caballería of Ronda is situated in the town centre, adjacent to the bullring. It is 120 kms from Seville, 100 kms from Jerez de la Frontera and 105 kms from Málaga. With an overall capacity for 28 horses, the combination of Andalusian architecture and the functionality of the dressage facilities provides a pleasant environment in which both horses and riders may enjoy their leisure after a hard day's work. Great care is taken over the harness room and all the items stored there, with sports attire kept in perfect condition at all times, thereby setting an example of good equestrian practice. The training of both horses and riders takes place in the covered 50 x 24 m. arena where members of the institution have practised the equestrian arts since 1785. The arena has evolved over the years into a dressage exercise ring.

New facilities

Our new facilities are situated in the south of the old town of Ronda, next door to the famous Moorish baths. These facilities currently have a training capacity for 8 horses and a 80 x 30 m. arena. Several paddocks serve as rest areas for horses. This is the first phase of a new project currently being undertaken by the Real Maestranza. The construction of all the necessary facilities for a centre of this type will be completed during the second phase, which is likely to take place in the near future.
